Coming soon??The men and women of the Huntersville Fire Department would like to thank the Town Council for supporting and funding our decision to move away from our traditional leather fire helmets and adopt the new, space age, sleek, plastic helmets. Following the foot steps of the great Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue in England - these new helmets are light, (we already mentioned sleek), wind resistant, plastic, very intimidating to fire and just really sleek.
Not only will they allow us to access the fire quickly - they will help improve our scores on our annual, cardiac, physicals that each member conducts on our stationary bikes at the stations. This is truly a win-win for our agency and our community. Despite the cost of 200% more than leather helmets; we feel this is a move we need to make.
